An engagement shoot or pre-wedding shoot really does help to get to know a couple before a wedding day and it’s a chance to get to know me and my approach too. But one thing that’s key to remember, is that my pre-wedding shoots are relaxed! So there’s really nothing to worry about. But I know it’s not every day that you head off with a photographer on a location photo shoot, so I understand that it can seem a little daunting at first!

I wanted to share this engagement shoot in the Yorkshire Dales to give couples an idea as to what to expect. Rachel and James are soon to be married and their wedding day is at The Woodman Inn in Huddersfield. They have chosen a wedding venue in the Yorkshire countryside and as a wedding photographer who loves the countryside, this is just a great match!

When I first met Rachel and James they told me how they love Malham and so asked if it would be possible to have their pre-wedding shoot in this iconic Yorkshire Dales location. Of course my answer was yes!

So we met up for coffee and talked through the details of their wedding day, before heading off into Malham for a lovely wander. As a wedding photographer based near Skipton, I’m really lucky to have the Yorkshire Dales so closeby and we had some fantastic locations and backdrops to work with in Malham.

It was a really enjoyable shoot and I know Rachel and James felt more at ease about being photographed as we walked and talked and captured.

Do ask me if you’re interested in a photo shoot like this – you don’t have to be getting married either, this is the perfect shoot for any couple at anytime to have some photographs taken to treasure as special memories.

I’m really looking forward to Rachel & James’ Yorkshire wedding day coming up very soon and if you’re looking for a wedding photographer in Yorkshire who loves the countryside, I’d be delighted to hear from you
