I’m often asked by couples if it matters if I haven’t photographed at a specific wedding venue before and my simple answer is no it doesn’t.

As an experienced Yorkshire wedding photographer, I’m very used to working in unfamiliar settings and I actually really love it when I’m asked to photograph at a venue where I haven’t previously worked. It makes for a really fresh and creative approach to the wedding and it’s always great to discover a Yorkshire wedding venue that’s new to me.

So when Emma & Sam asked me to capture their wedding day at the very beautiful Bowcliffe Hall, I was very excited indeed!

My couple chose an October wedding and we were certainly blessed with the Yorkshire weather that day! I was greeted by the very friendly team at Bowcliffe Hall which was bathed in the autumn sunshine and ready to welcome this lovely couple and their guests.

Emma and Sam chose my five-hour collection and it enabled me to capture the elements of their day that were most important to them. I arrived ahead of their ceremony to capture the groom and his groomsmen followed by Emma’s very stylish arrival with her Mum and her bridesmaids.

Their ceremony was held in the most beautiful room and it was full of autumn sunlight and the warmth of all their closest family and friends too.

As a wedding photographer in Yorkshire, it’s always wise for me to be ready for the weather to be unpredictable but it couldn’t have been more ideal and after the late afternoon ceremony, we had the fantastic grounds of Bowcliffe Hall for some relaxed and natural portraits before they headed into their reception. As the night fell, Emma and Sam had chosen to surprise their guests with a professional firework display by Optimum Fireworks and that gave me some very special opportunities for photographs at the end of their day.

I then joined them for their cake cutting and first dance which was full of romance and was the perfect ending to their perfect day. Thanks so much to Emma & Sam for asking me to capture their beautiful day.

Here’s what they had to say about their experience with me as their wedding photographer at Bowcliffe Hall:-

“I liked Kathryn immediately. She is warm, friendly and she listened to our vision of what we wanted on our wedding day – relaxed, informal and not a lot of posed photos. We got married at 4pm so we were a little pushed for time before we lost the light, but there wasn’t a single second where we felt rushed or directed – Kathryn worked with us to get every shot that we wanted (and more)!! I barely noticed her being there for most of the day which is a massive complement. We got our photos and we were absolutely blown away. They are absolutely beautiful. Be we are not surprised – Kathryn is an exceptionally talented photographer and a lovely person and we are so lucky we got to have her shoot our special day. I would (and have)! recommended her to absolutely everyone!”
