There was a little skip of joy when Laura and Patrick asked me to photograph their Yorkshire Dales wedding day – not least because they were involving their Springer Spaniel! And coincidentally with the same name as my dog! And I love dogs at weddings!
So how lovely for them to choose me as their wedding photographer at The Priests House, Barden Tower – a fantastic Yorkshire wedding venue and within stunning surroundings too.
They also had a pre-wedding shoot with me and of course their lovely Springer joined in the fun! We headed out to Yockenthwaite Farm for some relaxed portraits of the three of them – that is when I could keep up with much springing from this little Springer Spaniel!
If you’re getting married in the Yorkshire Dales, you can expect a varied weather forecast and with a late September wedding, it could really go either way. The forecast was changeable shall we say and on the day we had bright sunshine – which was an unexpected surprise, but a welcome one!
Laura got ready with her bridesmaids and close family in a stunning cottage close to Ilkley Moor, so I joined them to capture this part of the day before heading off to The Priests House to photograph Patrick and pooch just before the ceremony.
As a Skipton wedding photographer, I get to work in some truly stunning Yorkshire Dales wedding venues and The Priests House is no exception – there was some beautiful light for the ceremony with the ruin of Barden Tower making the perfect backdrop for an authentic countryside wedding.
Laura chose a beautiful palette of autumn tones for her flowers and the day was filled with gorgeous country tweeds and a matching handmade collar for pooch from Collar & Tweed. It all looked simply beautiful and it was certainly a day to remember. Did it rain? Well just a touch towards the end of the day, but we still managed to get outside for some lovely portraits at dusk.
If you’re looking for a wedding photographer in the Yorkshire Dales or a Priests House, Barden Tower wedding photographer, I’d love to hear from you!
